About My Practice
I’ve been practising Iyengar Yoga since 1996. Through 4 pregnancies, 1 marriage and the death of 1 child. Iyengar Yoga has seen me through the constant weaving of positive and negative life experiences. Helping me manage the many ups and downs, Guruji wisely said "Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured." The foundation of my practice combines the physical with an inner emotional and spiritual journey. By integrating body, breath, movement, and meditative awareness, I strive to promote an understanding of the interdependency of all these aspects in personal health and wellbeing.

FAQs
What should I wear to class?
Non-restrictive and comfortable clothing. No trainers required.
How many times a week should I practise?
I suggest starting with 1 hour a week and you will start feeling the benefits. You will likely find that after you start experiencing the benefits of a regular practise you will naturally want to do more. Don't let time constraints or unrealistic goals become an obstacle to your Yoga journey.
Do I have to bring any equipment with me?
You will need a yoga mat but other props e.g. belts or blocks can be borrowed or purchased.
What if I have an injury or illness?
It is important to inform your teacher if you have an illness or injury. Most asanas can be adapted to help or in more severe cases your teacher will be able to direct you to a Remedial or Recuperative class until you have fully recovered enough to continue your usual practise.
I am not flexible is yoga for me?
Yoga is not just for the flexible, all ages, sex and abilities can benefit from a regular practise. Yoga is fully inclusive.
